The NAICU membership cover the full range of independent colleges and universities: traditional liberal arts colleges, major research universities, church- and faith-related institutions, historically black colleges and universities, women's colleges, performing and visual arts institutions, two-year colleges, and schools of law, medicine, engineering, business, and other professions. State associations that are members of the National Association of Independent College and University State Executives (NAICUSE) are members of NAICU, as are many special-purpose or regional independent college and university associations (the Secretariat). Also affiliated with NAICU are the Legal Services Review Panel, which evaluates legal issues affecting independent colleges and universities and advises members on the implications of precedent-setting litigation; and the State-National Information Network (SNIN) Advisory Committee, a NAICU/NAICUSE cooperative effort for research supporting the groups' policy agenda. If you are a private college or university president considering joining NAICU, please click on the "Membership Info" link on the left for information on member benefits and procedures. |
