Earlham President Douglas Bennett Announces Retirement
August 4, 2010
Earlham College President Douglas C. Bennett announced this morning that he intends to retire at the end of June 2011. Bennett has been president since 1997. When he leaves Earlham, Bennett says that he and his family plan to move to their home in Maine. He plans to take 2011-12 as a year of "intellectual and spiritual renewal," after which he hopes to remain involved in issues of accountability, access, learning and assessment. A timeframe for replacing Bennett has not yet been determined.
