Fitzsimmons takes reins as Shenandoah Univerity's first female president
July 2, 2008
Tracy Fitzsimmons is the fourth president to serve at the Winchester campus since the institution moved in 1960. She is also the first female president in the school's 133-year history, though she isn't quick to tout that accomplishment. "Winchester is a good community for women leaders now. I mean, look around. There are women leaders sprouting up everywhere," said Fitzsimmons, the youngest-sitting university president in Virginia.
