Ralph Hexter to step down as Hampshire College president

Hampshire College President Ralph Hexter has announced plans to step down after more than four years on the job. Spokeswoman Elaine Thomas says Hexter informed the Hampshire College Board of Trustees on Monday that he believes this is the right time in his career to plan a leave the post. The two sides are still discussing the details of the transition. Hexter is the fifth president of the liberal arts college in western Massachusetts known for the study of film, music, theater and the visual arts.
