HEA 101: Model Financial Aid Offer Form |

OverviewThe Secretary is directed to establish an advisory committee (within six months of enactment of HEOA), and develop a model student aid offer form based on the committee’s recommendations, submit the form to the higher education authorizing committees in Congress, and make it widely available within a year of enactment. While the form envisions its use by colleges for making aid awards, it is not yet mandated for these purposes.The form must include the student’s cost of attendance, the amount and types of financial aid, the net amount the student must pay, and sources of additional information about the aid.
