Why One College Has Second Thoughts About the ‘Coalition’ — and Another Has High Hopes

People have expressed many strong opinions of the Coalition since its founding members first telegraphed their intentions four years ago. In an article this week, The Chronicle takes stock of the growing rivalry between the new consortium and the Common Application, used by more than 800 colleges worldwide. Both groups sponsor a shared application system allowing students to apply to any and all member institutions.
