Tax Reform Proposals Hurt Connecticut Colleges

John Petillo, president of Sacred Heart University (CT), and Mark Ojakian, president of the Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges, write: As presidents of public and independent colleges in Connecticut, we have grave concerns about the effects of the House Republican's proposal for tax reform in the United States. The Joint Committee on Taxation estimates the bill will cost higher education more than $111 billion over 10 years.
