FCC Rescinds Net Neutrality Rules

The Federal Communications Commission formally voted to repeal and replace Obama-era net neutrality regulations that required Internet providers to treat all web traffic equally. The FCC’s action was widely opposed by numerous proponents of a free and open Internet, including many institutions of higher education that remain concerned about the detrimental effects that repeal of the rule will have on their educational and research missions. Previously, NAICU joined an EDUCAUSE-led effort to oppose any changes to net neutrality laws.
