Grant Awards Available for the ANNH Program

April 01, 2022

The Department of Education is inviting institutions of higher education to apply for funds through the Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions (ANNH) Program. Institutions may use these grants to plan, develop, or implement activities that strengthen the institution.

The ANNH program provides grants to eligible institutions to enable them to improve and expand their capacity to serve Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students. The maximum grant amount is $825,000, and grants are for 5 years. Applications are due May 31, 2022.

In order to receive this funding, an institution must be designated as an eligible institution by receiving approval from the Department that it is an ANNH institution. Upon designation, an institution is eligible to apply for the grant program. In approving an application under this program, an institution must identify no more than two studies that describe the primary practice or strategy it intends to use to establish an academic tutoring and counseling program on campus and provide proper student support services.
