Underfunded Black Colleges and Universities Need Congressional Support - Commentary

Hunt Institute President and CEO Javaid Siddiqi writes: Over the past decade, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have received increased attention as a critical piece of the nation’s postsecondary landscape. As drivers of economic activity of nearly $15 billion annually, calls to support HBCUs at the state level have grown. However, this renewed attention has also renewed focus on the systemic underfunding of HBCUs over the last century.
