Newslist: Round-up: Biden Administration Forgives Another $9.2 Billion in Student Debt

The Biden Administration’s initiative to forgive student loan debt yesterday reached another 125,000 borrowers totaling $9.2 billion, according to an Education Department announcement.
 
Some $5.2 billion is related to fix the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Another $2.8 billion in relief is going to individuals who have been in repayment for 20 or more years but haven’t received relief through income-driven repayment plans. The final $1.2 billion will go to discharge loans for borrowers who have a total or permanent disability.
