Round-up: FAFSA Relaunch Fallout Continues
Fallout from the botched relaunch of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) continues to ripple through higher education.
Appearing before the annual meeting of the Education Writers Association, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said the Department did not divert FAFSA resources to support student debt relief. He also discussed the Supreme Court’s ruling banning race-conscious admissions, civil rights investigations into antisemitism on campus and other issues. Shortly before the appearance, the Department announced a
“full-scale review” of the Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), the agency within the Education Department that oversaw the FAFSA project.
