Affirmative Action Gets Another Day in Court

A little over a year after winning an end to affirmative action at the Supreme Court, Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) is back in the courtroom. Yesterday marked the first day of trial in the group’s case against the U.S. Naval Academy before a federal judge in Baltimore. It’s the latest legal battle over the still-blurry contours of summer 2023’s Supreme Court ruling, which struck down the practice at nearly all colleges and universities. For SFFA, the key word there is “nearly.”
