Harvard Hasn’t Had a Strike in More Than 30 Years Until Today
Harvard University was hit by its first strike in more than 30 years on Wednesday, after months of negotiations between food service workers and the Ivy League school failed to yield a contract agreement. Protestors began gathering outside Annenberg Hall, the main freshman dining hall, at about 5 a.m., according to union spokeswoman Tiffany Ten Eyck. Within two hours a group of about 40 workers and students had assembled, chanting slogans and banging on orange buckets.
