New Albion College Equestrian Center Among Largest in Nation

Albion College alumna Randi Heathman decided in 2003 to write her honors program thesis on the impact an equestrian center could have at her college.  But when officials read it, they found a center that could boost enrollment and provide a riding program unlike any other.  In 2004, the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center at Albion College was built. And now, after much success, the private college took Heathman's dream a step further.  The college constructed a $1.8 million facility with a 125-foot wide and 410-foot long riding surface. It has 79 horse stalls, and is among the largest in the nation, Heathman said.
