New Wittenberg President Wants Stronger Ties with Springfield

A top priority for the new president of Wittenberg University is to further connect the school with the Springfield community.  Mike Fransden, the 15th president of the liberal arts college that’s a major local employer with an estimated $70 million impact on the region’s economy, took his seat as the leader of the Springfield school on July 1. He told the Springfield News-Sun during an exclusive interview that he plans to be active in the city and to make sure residents know they are welcome on campus.
