Randolph College to Eliminate Riding Program

After months of deliberation, the Randolph College (VA) Board of Trustees has decided to eliminate its riding program despite an effort to save it by staff, alumni and the equestrian community.  The decision was made at the board's June meeting and announced via an email from President Bradley Bateman at 10 a.m. Monday. The program will end next June, meaning current riders on the equestrian team will be able to compete in the 2019 season.  The decision was not unanimous, Bateman said in a Monday phone interview.
