Yale Reveals Personal Data Stolen From Server in 2008-09

An intruder gained access to a Yale University (CT) server between April 2008 and January 2009 and was able to steal names, Social Security numbers, birthdates, email addresses and, in many cases, physical addresses of students, faculty and staff, the university reported recently.  A letter was sent to affected persons last week by Jack F. Callahan Jr., senior vice president for operations. About 119,000 persons were affected, according to Yale spokeswoman Karen Peart.
