Northwestern President-Elect Rebecca Blank Steps Down After Revealing Cancer Diagnosis

Incoming Northwestern University (IL) president Rebecca Blank will no longer take on the role because she has an aggressive form of cancer, she said. She said she found out about her diagnosis last week.  Monday was supposed to be Ms. Blank’s first day on campus as the school’s president-elect, she said. Ms. Blank was slated to take over full time starting in September.
