Ripon Breaks Ground on New Facilities as Other Small Colleges Tighten Budgets

While some private colleges in Wisconsin are cutting back or even closing, Ripon College is breaking ground on two new projects. Earlier this month, Cardinal Stritch University near Milwaukee announced it will be closing in May. University officials cited financial struggles and declining enrollment. And In Fond du Lac, Marian University announced it was laying off some staff and eliminating more than a dozen majors and minors.
Generally speaking, there are certain things that could paint a picture of the health, or how well a school is doing, of smaller colleges and universities.
