These California Colleges Admitted Legacy Students Who Didn't Meet Basic Requirements

The University of Southern California, Pepperdine University and Vanguard University each admitted a handful of students over the past four years who had connections to alumni or wealthy donors but who did not meet the school’s minimum admissions requirements, state records show. Other private California schools including Stanford University, Harvey Mudd College and Santa Clara University all reported substantial numbers of legacy admits over the past four years. But USC, Pepperdine and Vanguard were the only three that indicated they had admitted some legacy students who didn’t meet the basic admissions requirements.
