Round-up: Harvard President Christine Gay Resigns

Christine Gay, the first African American woman to lead Harvard University, has resigned following multiple claims of plagiarism and a heavily criticized appearance during a House Committee on Education and the Workforce hearing on antisemitism on campus in the wake of the Israeli-Hama conflict.

Gay joins M. Elizabeth Magill, the former president of the University of Pennsylvania who resigned December 9, 2023 under pressure for her answers during the same Congressional hearing.

Harvard Provost Alan Garber has been appointed interim president.
