Pitzer College President Rejects Resolution for Expansive Israel Boycott

Pitzer College (CA) president Strom Thacker rejected an amended resolution recently adopted by students, faculty and staff that called on the college to fully cut ties with Israeli universities. Thacker wrote in a statement on April 11 to the campus community that he believed an academic boycott conflicted with the college’s academic freedom principles and could create “the impression that some perspectives are more welcome on campus than others.”
