How This First-Time Voter Is Helping Other Students Get Registered

Ariel Pennington-Reyes struggled a bit when she first tried to register to vote. She wasn’t sure what to do with her form or where to affix a stamp to it. “I’m not going to lie,” said the sophomore at George Washington University. “I don’t send mail very often.” But then she was connected with a nonpartisan group called GW Votes while volunteering earlier this year. With the organization’s help, she was able to register in just half an hour. Now Pennington-Reyes is working to get other students signed up, too.
