Johns Hopkins to Offer Training After Probe Over Antisemitic, Anti-Arab Complaints

Johns Hopkins University (MD) has agreed to make changes, including offering more training, after federal authorities say it did not properly address some complaints about antisemitism and anti-Arab harassment and discrimination last school year. The Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights launched a review last year following allegations that the Baltimore university failed to respond to reports of antisemitism after the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and ongoing war. Authorities identified 99 incidents of alleged harassment based on “shared ancestry” that targeted Jews, Palestinians and other Arabs between October 2023 and this past May.
