More Than 20,000 Sign Student Aid Alliance "Statement of Support" in Five Days

Launched just a week ago, the Student Aid Alliance "Save Student Aid" campaign had already reached 20,000 signatories to its "statement of support" on Saturday. The total continues to grow by about 1,000 per day, and was approaching 22,000 mid-day on Monday. The Alliance, a joint effort of 74 higher education associations, is calling for Congress to "preserve, protect and provide adequate funding for the core federal student aid programs, such as Pell Grants and student loan benefits" in light of the $30 billion already cut from federal student aid programs, and ongoing state cuts to higher education.
