NAICU’s Giesecke Elected President of Committee for Education Funding

The Committee for Education Funding (CEF), a coalition of more than 100 educational organizations advocating for federal funding for education, announced that Stephanie Giesecke, NAICU’s Director of Budget and Appropriations, was elected President of the committee. Giesecke, who was elected by CEF’s membership during its annual meeting, will serve a one-year term starting in January.

CEF members include a wide array of associations dedicated to education, from pre-school to graduate school, and providers of educational enhancements, from afterschool programs to museums and libraries.  The CEF president serves as chair of the committee’s membership meetings, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee.

This is Giesecke’s second tenure as CEF president.  She also served in this role in 2006, and is widely seen as a key leader and advocate for higher education funding.
