Department Announces Applications for ANNH Grant Program

April 30, 2021

This week, the Department of Education announced that institutions are now able to apply for funding in the Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian-Serving (ANNH) Institutions program in Title III, Part F, of the Higher Education Act. This program provides grant opportunities for colleges and universities to “improve and expand their capacity to serve Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians on campus.”

To qualify for the grant funding, institutions must meet the eligibility requirements and apply for funding by the agency’s June 10, 2021 deadline.

The Department has included a competitive preference priority for institutions that propose a project for building capacity for remote learning. Institutions that do this can earn up to 3 additional points on their application for a total of 103 points. The average award is expected to be around $525,000, with a maximum award amount of $550,000.
