Government Moves to Dismiss Appeal in Reimbursement Cap Case. The federal government filed to dismiss its appeal of an injunction blocking the Department of Energy from imposing a 15% cap on indirect costs for research grants with institutions of higher education. The government’s move came after Congress inserted language into the FY2026 appropriations bill to prevent the agency from reducing reimbursements for facilities and administration expenses incurred under federal research grants.  

Feedback Requested on Stabilizing College Sports. The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions issued a request for stakeholder feedback on numerous questions related to stabilizing college sports, including compensation and benefits, protecting paid student athletes, eligibility and academic experience, and student-athlete status. Colleges wishing to respond should submit their feedback to opportunitiesforathletes@help.senate.gov by April 10, 2026.
