Much of the data presented in Private Colleges: Fact File are from the Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS), a series of interrelated surveys of colleges and universities conducted annually by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics.  IPEDS data reflect all higher education institutions participating in federal financial aid programs.  Analysis is by NAICU's Research and Policy Analysis staff.
