Oregon Alliance of Independent Colleges and Universities President Brent Wilder writes: From business to government leaders to parents, we can all agree that college should be more affordable for every Oregonian. The key is keeping tuition and fees low, and the best way to do so is by doubling the federal Pell Grant— the cornerstone of student financial aid in the United States. Doubling the Pell Grant is the single most important action Congress can take to increase access to college and make it more affordable for low- and moderate- income learners.
