House Passes Resolution Regarding HBCU Bomb Threats
March 11, 2022
The House of Representatives passed a
concurrent resolution that condemns threats of violence against Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and reaffirms support for HBCUs and their students, by a bipartisan vote of 418-0. The higher education community
supported the resolution and called for its passage.
The legislative initiative was introduced by the House
Bipartisan HBCU Caucus co-Chairs Representatives Alma Adams (D-NC) and French Hill (R-AK) in response to the
bomb threats being received on HBCU campuses.
Last week, the Senate passed a similar
resolution that was introduced by the Senate Bipartisan HBCU Caucus co-Chairs Senators Tim Scott (R-SC) and Chris Coons (D-DE).
